The company Legler GmbH & Co KG was founded on 01.01.1990 in the Ore Mountains in Olbernhau OT Rothenthal Quite grim they look drein, the venerable journeymen of wood, the tight in uniform and armed with rifle or saber watch over the Christmas peace! Why is that so? Well, for that we have to take a look at history: When the first Erzgebirge nutcracker saw the light of day around 1870, gendarmes and generals, kings and soldiers were a constant „threat“ to the people. But the people of the Ore Mountains took it with humor: they immortalized the proud dignitaries in wood and made them crack hard nuts for themselves as punishment for some arbitrariness. And so the nutcrackers still look quite grim today when we put a hard nut between their teeth!
